More about Heidi...
A native Detroiter and life-long athlete, I earned a varsity letter in volleyball at Michigan State University in 1978. I remain active today by biking, swimming, and hiking. Thus far, I have conquered the Great Barrier Reef, Franz Josef Glacier, Machu Picchu, the Galapagos Islands, and miles of the breathtaking beaches of the Great Lakes.
I am a student, servant leader, influencer, design thinker, change agent, and master Agilest. I am passionate about creating amazing Agile experiences through leadership, mentoring, and coaching. I have served as a moderator for the Collaborative Gain - a community of senior leaders who help each other lead innovation and customer-centric change. I am currently safely and pragmatically guiding a Fortune 10 company along their path to enterprise agility with LeadingAgile.
I have spent my entire life seeking – sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly - the spiritual truth about change. It’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do with it.

#AgileMatters
My passion for Agile stems from my passion for people. The very first lesson I learned about high performing teams is that people matter. The very first lesson I learned about technology is that people are more important than technology. I have been at the forefront of championing Agile practices for over 20 years and have gained extraordinary insights about how to effectively lead and drive change.
In my most recent executive role, I served as the chief Agilist for a $30BN company in the financial services industry. Over the course of our multi-year Agile journey, we improved our ability to deliver the capabilities our customers needed when they needed them. We delivered value. We embraced change.
I currently serve on the Agile Alliance Board of Directors. I have published the blog, ‘Embracing the Agile Mindset & Agile Core Principles’, am a co-creator of the Alliance’s Business Agility Webinar Series, and presented ‘The Agile Mindset and Enterprise Agility' in May 2017. I have been a member of the Agile Alliance’s Supporting Agile Adoption Program since 2014. Additionally, I Co-Chaired the Agile Alliance's Agile Executive Forum in 2013 and 2014. I recently delivered my first TED Talk at TEDxSanAntonio on 'agile is change'.

#DiversityMatters
A courageous leader and change agent, I have been at the forefront of championing women in technology throughout my career and was nominated to STEMconnector’s® list of 100 Diverse Corporate Leaders in STEM in 2014. In January 2014, I co-founded San Antonio’s first Lean In Circle, a small peer group that meets regularly to learn and grow together, with the mission to empower women to achieve their ambitions. I have published blogs for Women Unlimited | STEM Needs Diversity. It’s a Business Imperative. And, for the Agile Alliance | Diversity and Inclusion: What It Is and Why It Matters.
Are you curious about the Red Chair? It’s symbolic. It was created by sitwithme.org – A Campaign Powered by NCWIT that invites everyone to validate and recognize the important role women play in creating future technology by taking a small but symbolic action: sit in a red chair and tell your story. In November 2013, I brought this national campaign to USAA. Yes, sometimes you have to sit to take a stand. I stand for women in technology, because #DiversityMatters.
